Historic Feat: SDA Bocconi School of Management’s MBA Program Ranked #6th in the World

The 2023 MBA Rankings by the Financial Times have brought forth a historic achievement for the SDA Bocconi School of Management: its full-time MBA program has been ranked sixth in the world. The one-year MBA program has surpassed some of the most established schools in the world to attain this outstanding recognition. It is important to note that the ranking by Financial Times is one of the most prestigious rankings in the world. “It is the most difficult ranking, coming from the oldest tradition of American business schools,” says Stefano Caselli, Dean of SDA Bocconi. “For this reason, the sixth position is a very prestigious achievement, but more importantly, it is a demonstration of the strength of our school, an open and inclusive, international place that can attract and transform talent from all over the world to make a significant impact in society.” The ranking is a matter of great pride for the International Master in Business program that SDA Bocconi partially runs at SDA Bocconi Asia Center, Mumbai which allows meritorious Indian students to achieve masters from SDA Bocconi with a meaningful Indian experience. The programs offered at SDA Bocconi Asia Center, Mumbai effectively mix the practical learning approach of the full-time MBA program with the familiar structure of a top Indian post-graduate program. The programs at SDA Bocconi Asia Center offer a tight-knit and diverse environment, with an international specialization immersion in Milano along with students joining from as many as 80 nationalities during immersions. Interestingly, the programs in India and Milano are taught by the distinguished international Bocconi faculty, who teach around the world and bring international experiences and cases into the classroom. This, combined with a unique peer-to-peer cultural interaction is what makes the programs and their learning experience so unique. The SDA Bocconi School of Management is one of Europe’s oldest and most prestigious business education institutions, and the ranking has further helped establish its brand value on the global stage for the Bocconi Alumni community of 120,000. The prestigious worldwide ranking is sure to solidify SDA Bocconi’s presence as one of the top business schools in the world, attracting in turn the most highly-motivated goal-achievers worldwide who are looking for a transformational learning experience in their careers. Cartier is a textbook example of how a luxury brand can cover all the bases

SDA Bocconi Asia Center was honoured to host the Cartier team for a round of exciting and interactive campus engagement for the full-time International Master in Business Program. Founded in 1847, Cartier possesses a unique savoir-faire when it comes to high jewellery and is truly a reference point when it comes to timeless luxury. Cartier’s association with India spans over 110 years. Over time, the brand has managed to stay meaningful and relevant in the region and continue to strive to maintain that. Jaya Venugopal (University Engagement Director), Jennifer Andamaye (HR Director MEIAT), Lauren Collins (Senior Talent Acquisition Partner) & Aastha Dubey (HR Manager India) answered questions that students had about the brand, its presence in the country, the strategy they employ to penetrate new markets and more. While remaining a constant source of inspiration for the whole industry, Cartier is also a textbook example of how a luxury brand can cover all the bases, from craftsmanship and product development to customer experience and digital strategy. From a cultural business perspective, the founders have successfully inculcated the values of rigour, generosity and curiosity into all the employees of Cartier. This is an invaluable partnership for SDA Bocconi Asia Center. We thank the team for taking out the time to give students a close glimpse into the world of Cartier and we look forward to many more such interactions in the future!

Three Reasons Why MISB Bocconi Is NOT the B-School for You

By now you’ve heard us tooting our own horn in blog after blog post. And while we think we’re pretty awesome, we also know that MISB Bocconi is not necessarily for everyone. Read on for three reasons why you should consider looking elsewhere when it comes to applying to business school. You believe students should be seen and not heard. Students and faculty at MISB Bocconi enjoy uniquely reciprocal relationships. Contributions from students aren’t merely tolerated, they’re welcomed and encouraged along every step of the way. If you’re looking for a school in which teachers teach and students learn with no intersection between the two, MISB Bocconi may not be a good fit. However, if you’re looking to become part of a dynamic community with plenty of opportunities for teamwork and idea exchange, then MISB Bocconi is right up your alley. You think maintaining a global network of friends and colleagues will be more hassle than helpful. From your time on our Mumbai campus alongside students from more than 80 countries to our semester in Milan and campus abroad summer programs, you’ll interact with a revolving door of students, faculty members, and representatives from international organizations, institutions, and companies. In doing so, you’ll develop an extensive network of global personal and professional contacts which will continue to come in handy as you progress through your career. Don’t fancy the idea of cultivating and maintaining all of these relationships? Consider looking elsewhere for your b-school program. You’re looking forward to a life of leisure. Perhaps you’re considering getting a post-grad just to have those prestigious letters like PGPB/PGDM/MBA after your name. If so, MISB Bocconi may not be your ideal b-school. Why? Because our extraordinary placement record means that all of our grads are well-positioned to take on executive positions in the business world. Speaking of leadership roles, MISB Bocconi may also fall short for grads aiming to coast through their careers without making any significant contributions. We’re not in the business of churning out ho-hum managers; rather, we’re all about creating the next generation of thought leaders. Of course, this comes with both responsibility and accountability, so beware if these ‘ility’ words make you cringe So there you have it: the straight scoop. If we’ve scared you off, don’t be concerned — there are plenty of other options out there when it comes to getting a post-grad. However, if you remain undeterred by these revelations, you may well be MISB Bocconi material, after all. P.S – [Update] 21st September 2018 SDA Bocconi Asia Center, formerly named MISB Bocconi, is a pan-Asian hub in Mumbai that has been delivering Top Executive Education and Top Postgraduate Programs designed by SDA Bocconi School of Management, Italy since 2012. SDA Bocconi is a Top Business School in Europe and is among the few to have gained the triple accreditation EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB  which puts it in the élite of Business Schools worldwide.
