Curriculum Vitae

Maurizio Poli is a Senior Lecturer in Decision Sciences & Business Analytics at SDA Bocconi School of Management. From January 2018 to 2023, he served as the Decision Sciences & Business Analytics Faculty Deputy. He is also a Contract Professor of Statistics and Business Analytics at Bocconi University.

At SDA Bocconi, he has been the Director of the Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) and is currently a Faculty Member of various Master and MBA programs. He was the Director of the Post Graduate Program in Business (PGPB) and the Executive Program in Business Analytics (EPBA) at SDA Bocconi Asia Center in Mumbai.

Maurizio has participated in and led numerous consultancy, research, training, and workshop projects in Europe for major multinational companies in the retail, energy, pharmaceutical, and banking sectors. His areas of research and consulting include business analytics and modeling, risk analysis, machine learning, data visualization, project management, and control systems. He has specialized in various fields, including innovative forecasting techniques, the use of quantitative techniques for financial planning and evaluation, and corporate performance control.

He has authored essays and articles on the topics he covers, with his works published in prominent journals such as Economia & Management and Politeia. Maurizio has held Visiting Professor roles at European, Asian, and American schools, including WU, Leon Kozminski, CBS, Fudan, and Anderson UCLA. He is a member of the Executive MBA Council and was a guest speaker at the GMAC Conference in 2012.

Since 1993, Maurizio has worked as a consultant, and since 2012, he has been an entrepreneur in the areas of data analysis, business simulation, financial modeling, business intelligence, performance management, and Robotic Process Automation. He received the Best Professor SDA Bocconi Open Market Courses award in 2011 and the Best Professor SDA Bocconi MBA Programs award in 2007.

Maurizio earned his degree in Economic and Social Disciplines (D.E.S.) from Bocconi University and completed the International Teachers Programme (ITP) at the Stern School of Business at New York University in 2000.
