TEDxBocconiUMumbai, an independently organized seventh edition of the TED event at SDA Bocconi Asia Center based on the theme “A Conscious Gambit,” was an astounding confluence of ideas, insights, and inspirations. TEDx is an extension of our mission to enable some courage and give voice to the future by spreading thoughts we have not heard yet that will make a difference.
Mr. Alessandro Guilani, the licensee of TEDxBocconiUMumbai and the Managing Director at SDA Bocconi Asia Center, inaugurated the event by expressing his admiration for TED’s platform for thinkers, educators, and dreamers. He highlighted the importance of making bold, conscious decisions and encouraged the audience to draw inspiration from the day’s speakers to turn their aspirations into reality.
TEDxBocconiUMumbai witnessed eight brilliant speakers from different domains taking center stage and reflecting on their stories. Shreya Punj
A content writer and publisher, Shreya shares her fascinating transition from an engineering background to writing and touches upon the changing literary landscape in India. The struggles of changing careers to a commitment she has made in instilling curiosity towards books and literature show her dedication and passion for art.
Siddhi Nagre: Founder of Local Nation (IIT B Alumna)
Her transparent take on why she chose entrepreneurship over a conventional corporate path. She talked about how she started from scratch and created a platform supporting Indian homegrown brands, highlighting the significance of a passion-driven lifestyle with responsible choices.
Uddhav Parav
A Marketing Professional known for devising watertight campaigns and unique approaches, he shared his creativity stories with brands such as Saavn and Oppo. Drawing from his own background in marketing, he underlined how important being an original (and authentic) man is these days—especially for what you do at home and at work.
Neelam Pandey Pathak: Founder of Rozgar Dhaba
Founder of Rozgar Dhaba, spoke about breaking those societal barriers and making drastic career shifts in engineering & Social entrepreneurship. The story of her perseverance and dedication to bringing jobs back to the rural areas struck a chord with the audience. Speaking of her experience delved deep into the world of automobiles and energy, working with big names like Tata Motors, Cummins India, Philips, and many others; she spoke of not only about taking risks but also conscious choices.
Shivani Dhowpakar
Shivani Dhopawkar, also called the Bombay Hooper, dazzled everyone with her hula-hooping act and courageously revealed why she left a secure IT career to dedicate herself full-time to her passion. Her experience demonstrated the value of listening to one’s intuition and the benefits of perseverance.
Shree Durgesh Kumar
Actor Shree Durgesh Kumar, who gained prominence for his part in the web series Panchayat, talked about his experiences of perseverance and resilience in the ruthless business of performing. His challenging and arduous path to achievement served as a potent reminder of the value of pursuing one’s dreams no matter what.
Rahul Gabba
Rahul Gabba, a blind musician, talked about how he overcame hardship and used music to convey his outlook on life. His tale of tenacity and inventiveness encouraged the audience to see past their constraints and realise their potential.
Radhika Bajoria
One of LinkedIn’s newest leading voices, Radhika Bajoria, stressed the need for perseverance and having the guts to seize new chances. Her speech emphasized how crucial it is to have a positive outlook and persevere in pursuing one’s objectives in the face of difficulties.
